Jesus the Christ
His mother quietly gave birth to the Son of God:
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and
wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid
him in a manger”
His angels declared His birth to shepherds who responded:
“Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see
this thing which is come to pass, which the
Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary,
and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.”
His disciples respond to His invitation “come follow me”:
“Let us now go” and do so “with haste”
As we become His disciples, we, like the shepherds,
come away “glorifying and praising God for all”
As we follow Him
“now” and “with haste”
we become the beneficiaries
of
His peace
His love
His mercy
His gift of eternal life
