At the evening program, I was moved by the display of patriotism during the National Hymn. It was sea of people with dark hair and hands over their hearts in the manner that you see in this picture. It was also touching to see the ROTC or young military--I don't know stand at attention by the stands throughout the entire parade and evening program. They didn't blink an eye (or so it seemed). Independence is a wonderful thing to celebrate in any country. I'm grateful for both independence and agency.
