November 1st is All Saints Day in the United States. In Latin America it is called "The Day of the Dead" which is in reality Memorial Day. During the week before there were flowers, both real and artificial, on sale everywhere! You can see people making wreaths in the park and along the side of mercado, they set up an entire alley of make-shift booths filled with flowers. The entire country supports this day.
