Quezaltepeque has a model home for the handicapped and many support programs for the families. It has no government support. It was the most impressive facility I have seen in Guatemala. One of the handicapped girls grabbed on to Spencer and wanted hugs and attention. It was fun to watch. This Catholic Priest with Spencer worked in Esquipulas in the early 70's and had dream of creating a home for handicapped and undernurished children. When he returned to Spain, he got the wheels turning for funds. Spencer was an attentive guest and saw a lot of good things that had been accomplished.
