Farewell Dinner

Today we had a wonderful farewell dinner in the apartment for the temple president. He cooked steaks on his grill. The North Americans brought all of the salads, beans, etc. I made a huge fruit salad and donated the walnuts for the Waldorf salad. The meal was great. The temple recorders, secretary, engineer, assistant engineer and their wives were invited. We included the sisters from the Distribution Center and the office manager of the annex. It was a great group. Here is just a collage of some of them. Today the counselors for the new president were announced. I guess President and Sister Maldonado are going to continue. That will help during the transition. I am actually surprised--it has seemed like Hermana Maldonado is really tired lately. I wonder how long they will continue. Time will tell. I understand a Guatemalan couple is coming soon and one from El Salvador will be here in November. It is going to be very different to have so many changes all at one time. We will certainly miss President and Sister Perez. They have been wonderful to work with. We have been guests at several luncheons put on by different shifts in the temple. The people are so loving and so very supportive. It will be weird when we get home to go to the temple and not be greeted with a kiss from every sister I meet. Someday, just for fun, I should count how many different people kiss me. It might even surprise me! We appreciate the prayers and support from all of you back home. We appreciate your prayers for other members of our family as well. Love, Jeanine

Spencer, I love your simple, straight forward and faith filled accounts of your mission. I love the pictures too. They are worth their 1000 words.
God Bless!
